# Professional Summary
A professional summary (or resume summary) is a short block at the top of your resume--usually two to four sentences--stating who you are, what you do, and what you bring. It sets context before recruiters read your experience bullets.
## Deeper Context

Front-load your strongest credential and include two or three terms from the target job description. Formula: "[Title/level] with [experience] in [focus]. [Key outcome or skill]. [Optional direction]." Example: "Product designer with six years in B2B SaaS. Shipped onboarding flows that lifted activation 18%. Seeking senior IC roles at product-led companies." Keep it scannable; if it exceeds four lines, cut.

## FAQ

### How long should a professional summary be?

Two to four sentences--enough for value and keywords, short enough to scan in a few seconds.

### Should I tailor my summary for each job?

Yes, at least lightly. Swap in the role title and one or two skills from the posting. Small edits per application often improve match quality.
